Visa and Immigration to reach Dubai

Before emigrating to Dubai, you’ll have to keep a few vital things in mind. And don’t worry unnecessarily about the paperwork involved. Here are a few steps to help you grasp the same better.

In most cases, your employer will sponsor your work visa, but if you’re applying for a freelance or business owner visa, you’ll have to explore options through Dubai Free Zones (Media City or Internet City).

The types of visas include the following:

  • Employment Visa

  • Business Visa

  • Conference Visa

  • Tourist Visa

  • Research Visa

  • Entry Visa (X-Visa)

  • Student Visa

  • Journalist Visa

  • Medical Visa

  • Virtual Work Visa

  • Family Visa

  • Golden Visa

  • Retirement Visa

  • Investor Visa

Country-Specific Exemptions

If you’re moving to Dubai from the USA or any other country, check the country-specific exemptions that the Emirate offers.

  • Those from the EU, US, UK and Australia can visit Dubai without making visa arrangements for 30 days. Post-arrival, the 30-day visit visa is stamped on the passport. A residency visa will then be necessary to stay beyond this period. You may arrange the same via your employer, investment, or family sponsorship.
